Nonthermal Flare Emission from MeV - energy Electrons at

چکیده
We present analyses of two solar ares observed with high spatial resolution at 86 GHz with the BIMA millimeter{wavelength telescope and at 17 and 34 GHz with the Nobeyama radioheliograph. In both events there is evidence for a simple bipolar structure in the radio source: in one case two distinct sources are clearly spatially resolved, while in the second the polarization image at 17 GHz suggests a bipolar nature. Bipolar sources are expected of MeV{energy electrons trapped in loop structures.

متن کاملInverse Compton X-ray Flare from GRB Reverse Shock
We study synchrotron self-inverse Compton radiation from a reverse-shocked fireball. If the inverse Compton process dominates the cooling of shocked electrons, an X-ray flare produced by the first order Compton scattering would emerge in the very early afterglow phase, with the bulk of the shock energy radiated in the second order scattering component at 10-100 MeV. The dominance of inverse Com...
متن کاملElectron versus Proton Timing Delays in Solar Flares
Both electrons and ions are accelerated in solar flares and carry nonthermal energy from the acceleration site to the chromospheric energy loss site, but the relative amount of energy carried by electrons versus ions is subject of debate. In this Letter we test whether the observed energy-dependent timing delays of 20-200 keV HXR emission can be explained in terms of propagating electrons versu...
متن کاملRadio and Hard X–ray Images of High–Energy Electrons in a Compact X-class Solar Flare
We present the first comparison between radio images of high–energy electrons accelerated by a solar flare and images of hard X–rays produced by the same electrons at photon energies above 100 keV. The radio and hard X–ray light curves match each other well and both light curves and spectra are quantitatively consistent with an origin in a single population of nonthermal electrons with a power ...
